Earth Day Freeby For You

In honor of Earth Day, April 22, 2010, I have teamed up with www.conservingnow.com
to help spread the word about Reducing Plastic Bag Use.

Since I teach about coupon and stockpile shopping, I know a lot of bags can sometimes be needed to haul home the great deals! I use canvas totes, or re-usable bags for my trips to the stores, but sometimes I forget them in the car. I do go back out and get them most times, but wouldn't it be nice if I could just remember them?

Well have I got a SWEET DEAL FOR YOU.........www.Conservingnow.com is giving away these GREAT static clings for your car window to help remind you to bring your bags in to the store when you do your coupon shopping.

So, you know you want to only use reusable bags, but how many times are you paying for your purchases, and suddenly remember your reusable bags are in the car, or at home or in the garage?

This static cling is the perfect solution for remembering your bags. It’s not a sticker and can be easily placed on the driver’s side window so that it’s always in your line of sight when you are getting out of the car!"

All you have to do to get your FREE static cling window decal is ask for one here.

I like using reusable bags since they hold more, and are easier to carry around. I do still get some plastic to help line my trash cans. Little things add up.

The cling is a great idea. I always have bags in my car but the remembering to haul them in is the challenge. Especially when you are just going to get a few things.

I think the cling idea is great too! It will be a great reminder for me and my husband! And I bet our boys will keep it in mind too!

At the moment we forget our bags. I thought leaving them in the trunk would help, but after they come in with groceries, we forget to put them back in again. Then I though hanging them in the garage would be a good place... didn't do that yet!

I'm hoping your cling will be the best idea yet!

To remember my bags I have it written in big bold letters on my coupon book. I also write it on the top of each store list that I look at in the car before going into the store. OH Walgreen's has their bags 3/$1.00 this week with their coupon in the flyer. Limit 6 I went twice :)

I leave them right under the "baby's" (he's 2) feet in the car. He likes to remind me, 'cause he sees them when he gets out of the car! :) After I go shopping, he helps me put away the groceries and then puts all the bags into one. He hands it to me and says "Back out!". So.... I DON'T remember, HE does! :)

My husband used to work in a recycling plant for plastics. He said it was sick how many barrels of bags they had to refuse because there were just too many to keep up with. It's GREAT to recycle. It's even better not to create the waste in the first place.
